About Prompt It!
Prompt It! is a lightweight browser extension that brings AI assistance directly into your right-click menu.
It uses small, focused promptlets to perform specific AI-powered tasks on any text you provide — without leaving the page.
Each promptlet runs independently, using only the context you explicitly choose to provide.
If you prefer explicit context, repeatable actions, and tool-oriented AI workflows, Prompt It may be a good fit.
Why promptlets?
Promptlets are designed to do one thing well.
Instead of a single, ongoing conversation, Prompt It encourages small, deliberate steps: summarising, rewriting, extracting, refining, or critiquing text as needed.
This keeps inputs clear, outputs usable, and assumptions easy to inspect.
Text is never self-explanatory; it becomes meaningful only when viewed through the right lens — the internal knowledge and assumptions of your organisation.
Promptlets let you capture that knowledge once, and apply it consistently to any new textual artefact.
How it works
- Select text on any web page
- Right-click and choose a Prompt It action
- View the result in the side panel
- Optionally run another action on the result
Prompt It does not rely on long chat sessions or hidden state. Any continuity comes from explicitly running the next action on the result.
Install the Extension
Prompt It! works in all Chromium-based browsers and is distributed via the Chrome Web Store.
